PARS & PAPS Workflow Preview

Organize barcodes, broker contacts, and local shipment records in early access. Live CBP/CBSA release status is not currently available while agency certification testing continues.

Prepare the Release Workflow

Local Status Workspace

Associate PARS and PAPS references with manifest drafts and record internal workflow status without treating it as agency confirmation.

Notification Preview

Test how dashboard and email notifications fit your dispatch process. Live release alerts will require certified agency connectivity.

Draft Activity Record

Keep timestamped local activity with a draft. It is not proof of release and must not replace confirmation from CBP, CBSA, or a broker.

Broker Contacts

Save broker contact details with shipment drafts and prepare the information needed for an approved external filing or release process.

How the PARS/PAPS Workflow Is Organized

Early access covers preparation; verify every live release through an approved source.

1

Barcode Assigned

A PARS or PAPS barcode is added to the shipment — either on the BOL or entered directly in BorderPro.

2

Broker Requests Release

When the release process applies, your customs broker submits entry or release data using the matching carrier-assigned reference. The border agency—not the broker—makes and communicates the release decision.

3

Record a Test Update

Use local or sandbox status to evaluate your dispatch workflow. BorderPro does not currently receive live agency release events.

4

Verify Before Proceeding

Confirm release through CBP, CBSA, or your customs broker before telling a driver to proceed. A BorderPro draft is not authorization.

Early-Access Workflow Features

Tools for preparing and testing a PARS/PAPS process before live agency connectivity.

Local Workflow Status

Record draft and test states in the dashboard. They are not polled from CBP or CBSA and do not prove release.

Notification Testing

Evaluate recipient lists and test events before production notification behavior and agency connectivity are available.

Dashboard Preview

Preview how local workflow events and contact settings will appear without representing them as live releases.

Draft Search

Search locally stored draft records by barcode, date, carrier, or workflow status and export them for internal review.

Broker Handoff Preparation

Associate broker contacts and the details needed for a future handoff. Confirm the live process outside BorderPro today.

Workflow Dashboard

Review local draft and test-state counts at a glance; no state is a live agency status while certification is pending.

PARS & PAPS FAQ

PARS (Pre-Arrival Review System) supports pre-arrival processing for goods entering Canada when that release option applies. PAPS is a corresponding pre-arrival process for goods entering the United States. The carrier-assigned cargo reference is matched to the broker's release or entry data; an agency decision must still be verified before the driver proceeds.

Live release notifications are not currently available. BorderPro's agency connectivity remains pending certification, so confirm status directly with CBP, CBSA, or your customs broker.

You can save broker contact information with a draft, but BorderPro does not currently provide a production broker-notification service. Use your established communication channel for live shipments.

Early access can retain searchable local draft records by barcode, date, carrier, status, or port of entry. These records are not an agency history or proof of release; use official records for audits.

Search a BorderPro PARS record

Search locally stored early-access records. This does not query CBSA or confirm a current release decision.

Search a PARS record

For live shipments, verify release or entry information through your broker and the applicable official agency channel.
